BreckConnect Gondola

I’ve heard the Epic Discovery at the top of the gondola is great for older kids, but it’s pricey and my kids are young (3 and 4) and I wasn’t sure if they’d get value out of all of the activities.  We’ll definitely be back to do Epic Discovery when they are a bit older, but for this trip, we simply parked in the central parking lot in town near the gondola and took the gondola up to the top of the mountain.  Parking is free after 3pm (it’s $10 for the day prior to 3pm) and there was minimal lines as we hopped on the gondola.  To our delight, the gondola is also free in the summer time and the ride is a beautiful way to see the town and surrounding area.  My kids wanted to keep riding it because they thought it was so neat.  It holds 8 people max, and it does get a bit warm as there is minimal ventilation for the ride.  Once at the top, there’s a ton of action as most of the visitors are there for the Epic Discovery or Day Camps.  There are several umbrella’d tables out in the center, and there is a DJ spinning tunes.  My kids loved the Dipping Dots ice cream ($5 / small cup) while my husband and I enjoyed a beer in the sun.
