Spend an Afternoon Exploring and Relaxing at this Creek and "Beach"!
It's not a "real" beach, but spending a day at Burgess Creek Beach might honestly be the next best thing. While this section of the creek and the sandy beach area are manmade, the beauty and setting of this area are SO magical. The grass is green, the water is clear, and there is tons of room to explore the waterfalls, steps, and sand. Late in the afternoon is really nice, as the sun is hidden by the buildings and your kids will have plenty of room to play in the shade without fear of sunburn. It would have been even better if we had brought camp chairs, but we simply rested in the grass and on a picnic blanket.
Note: We brought snacks and drinks (I wasn't sure if we could but no one seemed to mind). Alternatively, you can buy food at the Slopeside Grill.
Directions: I felt a little foolish but this was a bit tricky for me to find. The easiest way to find the creek/beach area is to go straight to the Slopeside Grill at the base of the ski lift area and head to the right (down towards the Sheraton). (I had gone up towards where Burgess Creek on Google maps is - this is the natural part of the creek but you will want to head to the manmade portion to play).

Per the website:
"Find your beach at the base of Steamboat Ski Area in the cool, clear waters of Burgess Creek, which meanders down the promenade at the base of the mountain. You’ll find a perfect depth for splashing around with the little ones. Stake out an Adirondack chair at the popular Burgess Creek Beach or South Beach, where you can sunbathe and watch as your kiddos play in the sand and explore the mini waterfalls while emerald mountains provide a picturesque background for the perfect summer day."
