Cherry Grove Park has picnic tables and two play areas for kids to climb and explore.

This park is so great—it's home to not one awesome playground, but two (and the second is almost completely gated)! It's also a great greenspace complete with fresh grass, picnic tables, and barbeques to take advantage of throughout. Basketball and tennis courts are also available for use.

The two play areas sit across from one another, separated by two swing sets, plenty of sidewalk for chalking, and picnic tables. The smaller play area is almost completely gated, but the one opening does not have a gate. It features a structure to climb on and a big, blue rocking car for kids to ride (comfortably, it fits two). There are two slides (a straight and double), steps and ladders, monkey bars, a chain wall, and a mini climbing wall too.

The larger area also has a structure, as well as a balance beam, a spinning disc, and a finger park perfect for race cars or tech decks. This area also has two slides (spiral and a double—be warned, the spiral is odd as it starts as a sidewinder and then starts looping). This area also features different types of ladders, including a chain ladder, a bridge, monkey rings (two sets, one is hidden under the bridge), a firefighter pole, and plenty of rock-climbing spots! There's also a standing swing that's just barely above the ground, which is both fun and novel.

Cherry Grove Park is less than two miles from the water, so the weather can change quickly—as always, in the bay, layers are recommended. A parking lot is available, as are public restrooms.

Jessie relocated to the Bay Area in 2013 to be a high school math teacher and since has gotten married, has two kids, and is now a SAHM, stay/slay at home mom. She enjoys working on her embroidery crafts and taking her kids to local playgrounds and regional nature parks, both of which were activities she became passionate about during the pandemic when she needed an outlet and a way to maintain her mental health. She loves encouraging local families and visitors alike to laugh, play, and explore. There’s so much to see and do so get outside and do it! #amom2kidsandapark
