Chesterfield Beach Park is a hidden neighborhood gem for swimming or a picnic!
This spot is perfect for an outdoor adventure whether you need a break from the heat or want to see some gorgeous sunset views of Seattle. This secluded green space and water access provide an easy way to spend time outdoors. Stairs will lead you from the parking lot down to a waterfront with a grass lawn. Hop in the water by stepping down the paved stair entrance and swim out as far as the dock leads you. Ladders are attached to the end of the L dock for easy exit.
The water doesn’t get too deep so there is no jumping allowed but it’s great for playing games or hiding a toy in the water to search for. Seasonal lifeguards are on duty but be sure to check the website for the current schedule. There are limited grab-and-go food options nearby but the lawn is perfect for a picnic lunch with some towels to refuel after swimming. You can also catch some breathtaking sunset views all year round, and it’s great for photos.
It’s important to note that there are no restrooms on site, and the parking lot holds about five cars so we suggest planning ahead and arriving early to have a good chance of securing a parking spot. We recommend bringing lots of sunscreen as there is limited shade. The area is at the bottom of a hill giving it protection from the neighborhood traffic, but we don’t recommend bringing along a stroller or anything with wheels. Be sure to stop by this gem for some fresh air and a new outdoor adventure!
