playground

Clermont Elementary School Playground is great for a couple of hours of play!

This playground has a fun variety of creative climbing elements, including a jungle gym and a long rock wall that multiple kids can enjoy simultaneously. There are a variety of slides including a twisting one, as well as swings. There are bridges and imaginative play structures throughout. It is a large structure and brightly colored. It's a great playground for a game of tag or other types of imaginative play. There are picnic tables so bring a picnic or some snacks with you! There is a long curb adjacent to the playground that serves as a really fun balance beam, which my little ones love - it kept them busy for a while. The playground itself is tucked away from the parking lot, and the other side is nestled up to a hill (Clermont is a popular sledding spot for community members) so little runners are more easily corralled, but there is tons of green space where they can run and play. Kiddos love climbing up the hill, and there are also stairs built into the hill.

The playground is tucked into a neighborhood, conveniently located off of Franconia from highways and easily accessible when heading back from Springfield area shopping. The park is available during non-school hours, and is a worthwhile stop when you are in the neighborhood! It is close to the Clermont Park baseball fields, so a quick trip if you need to give little ones a distraction before, after or between games. There are no restrooms available to the general public, but the Rose Hill Shopping Center is only a couple of minutes up Franconia Road where there are ample places to use the facilities or grab a bite. There is a McDonald's there, a Little Caesar's, as well as an Indian restaurant and a Pho spot. Safeway, Walgreens and 7-11 are also right there if you want to grab some snacks.
