Colette's is a delicious French bakery with wonderful baked goods and coffee!

Located close to the Tuft’s outdoor pool in Medford is this delicious bakery. Opened in 2019 by a French couple (with an adorable French bulldog as a logo), this bakery serves classic French baked goods as well as some savory sandwich options.  The flaky croissants are a big hit with our little ones, and we never forget to pick up a baguette ‘de campagne’ for the house. Plenty of delicious desserts, a full menu of coffee options, and plenty of other mouth-watering breakfast goods round out the menu. They also do special items for certain holidays and events. Their selection increases on the weekend so if you’re looking for something a bit more specific you might want to time your visit. The staff have all been French-speaking in each of our visits so for those who want to test their French you’ll have plenty of opportunities! Some limited seating is available inside but it can get a bit busy

Colette’s is in a relatively small space and there is often a line on weekend mornings, especially since they were written up by Boston.com in the winter of 2020. Make sure to get there early and expect to wait a bit to get your order in.  There is street parking right in front and along the surrounding roads. Less than a mile away is a wonderful playground, Hoyt-Sullivan, which is a nice spot to visit with the kids, with a nice cup of coffee and croissant of course!

The Head of Accounting and Boston Ambassador, Jenny has been living in Boston for almost 10 years. Before Boston, she lived in Washington, DC for 8 years, and previous to that grew up on Long Island, NY. Along the way, she spent a few months in Amsterdam with her family biking all around and exploring that beautiful city! Jenny has always enjoyed being active - from organized sports to jogging, and of course, being in the garden as much as possible when the weather is cooperative. She tries to include her children in all of her active hobbies. With two toddler boys, ages 3 and 5, she and her husband spend their time discovering new places and things to do in the New England area. Spending time outdoors in all types of weather and encouraging her children to love all seasons is very important to her - and so is helping and encouraging others to do the same. Jenny and her family love spending time at the beach, traveling, taking walks and hikes, and of course, finding new playgrounds!
