An expansive park with something for everyone
Crockett Park is huge (over 160 acres) and has expansive facilities- baseball fields, trails, playgrounds, tennis courts, a nature trail, community playgrounds, an amphitheater, and a greenway that connects to River Park. In the summertime, it hosts a variety of activities- including a Fourth of July show.
One of our favorite spots in the park is the large, wooden, community playground that's located just behind the middle school. This playground is situated at the center of the park and has unique play equipment, including a maze-like play structure with slides, ladders, zipline, swings, and more. It's got so much for all ages and has a very adventurous feel, which attracts kids young and old. There is also something called the Wonder Trail nearby, with signs that create fun imaginative moments.
There is a separate play area for younger children, which has smaller playing equipment. It also boasts a rubberized floor, and it can easily be accessed from the main play structure which is helpful for parents or caregivers with children of multiple ages. This playground is also surrounded by trees and therefore is one of the area's shadiest parks to seek out during the height of the summer heat. There are picnic tables in the shaded areas, so it's a great place for a picnic followed by some playtime for the kids while you finish the rest of your lunch.
The entire playground is gated and is most accessible by parking behind the middle school or near the baseball fields. Restrooms near the baseball fields as well.
