If you enjoy outdoor art installations, Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park is a fun stop for you!

This fun sculpture collection began when the Hall Family Foundation started out with over 50 pieces of art by artist Henry Moore. In 1989, several more sculptures were added, and the park was named Henry Moore Sculpture Garden. Eventually, the Foundation donated many more works, and the park was renamed Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park.

It's quite a nice stroll to walk through the sculpture garden and check out the wide variety of art pieces. Some of the most famous pieces here are the giant shuttlecock sculptures, and in the short time we visited the park, we saw several tourists pull up and take photos beside them. I was also intrigued by the interesting sculptures of headless people...yes, it was odd, but that's what made it interesting. I had actually never heard of this sculpture garden, prior to our visit to Kansas City. I'm glad we visited though, as it gave the kids the chance to check out some outdoor art, and gave our family the chance to do something a little different for us.

Be sure to pack sunscreen and layers for walking around this outdoor art installation. And, I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can, so it's not quite so busy. Also, bring a picnic lunch or snacks and water bottles. You'll be walking around outdoors, and your kiddos will surely enjoy this more with fun snacks in tow. It is stroller-friendly, so go ahead and bring that stroller. Parking was no problem here, as you're not actually in the heart of downtown, so don't let worries about parking prevent you from visiting.

After enjoying some time at this sculpture garden, head over to Evolve Juicery for some tasty smoothies!
