Hours of fun await at Douglas Community Center in Leesburg.

The beach does not feel too far away when at the Douglas Community Center! The community center has designated a large space of their facilities into a massive sandpit. In the sandpit, they have endless beach toys to keep your child occupied. The bonus is they have lounge chairs and umbrellas for parents and caretakers to relax as they watch their little ones play. They also have two tables around the sandpit for a picnic lunch and they even have music playing over a speaker. Remember to bring or wear clothes that you don't mind getting sandy and shoes that easily slip off! The area is usually well maintained and clean. 

Additionally, the center has a large playground space with equipment for all ages. Next to the playground are walking trails, a beach volleyball pit, a baseball field, two covered picnic pavilions, and a grassy area perfect for a picnic blanket.  The biggest perk of this center is there is something for every age! 

The playground is tucked away behind the community center off of Market Street in Leesburg which serves as a preschool and day school. Drive to the back of the community center and you will see parking spots next to the playground. The sandpit is to the left of the community center when you are facing the back of the building. 

On a nice day, the center is moderately crowded but there is still plenty of space to park and grab a picnic table in their pavilion. They do not have indoor bathrooms, however, there is a portapotty located to the left of the playground.
