Duane R. Harte Park is a beautiful, well-maintained park with multiple playgrounds, trail areas and a large, open grass field.
Duane R. Hart Park is a peaceful, clean park tucked away in a residential neighborhood, with access to the Santa Clara River Trail in the southern part of the parking lot! There is free parking and restrooms. We have visited at many different times of day, and have never had any problem parking. Whether your family loves bike rides, nature trails, playgrounds or picnicking, this park has an activity for you.
They have two shaded playground structures, each geared for different ages (2-5 & 5-12 years old). Although the playground structures are recommended for ages 2 & up, the smaller playground is great for early walkers and climbers. They also have a set of big kid swings and baby swings. Next to the playgrounds, there is a covered picnic table area, there is also picnic tables & benches scattered throughout the park, if you are looking for a more secluded picnic experience.
There is a large, well-kept grass field in the center of the park, with a paved path around the perimeter. This is a great path for a quick jog, stroller walk, or family bike ride. You can find many families playing with their dogs, kicking a soccer ball, throwing a football or picnicking in the field. It is a large area, giving each activity plenty of space.
At the back of the park, there is another paved trail that goes off onto a nature trail. The park has partnered up with Santa Clarita Public Library's Trail Tales program to offer an interactive trail for families. There are plaques throughout the trail with pages from a story, a great way to keep kids engaged along the trail. You can also find benches and picnic tables throughout this section of the park as well.
