There's something for All Ages at East Park.

East Park is a lovely neighborhood park set in the heart of East Nashville.  It has a large green space and a fantastic large play structure as well as a rope climbing pyramid for older kids.  There is also a community center which may have bathrooms available. The parking lot can get packed so you may have to park and walk.

A community center has after school programming integrated with the adjacent Warner Elementary School.  The indoor walking track is free and the other amenities are very inexpensive to use -- swimming pool, weight room, dance classes etc. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help.
