Fellger park is a .77-acre playground on the corners of Belmont and Damen in Chicago's North Center neighborhood.
It's been a park since the 1950's and has been consistently well-maintained and updated with each generation. Damen and Belmont are two busy street corners, but there is ample (paid) street parking and it is easily accessible by multiple bus and train lines. Fellger is a sprawling park smack dab in a bustling city neighborhood. In addition to swings, see-saws and rockin' rider apparatuses, there are 2 major structures and a designated tot spot (with a little house and a train with multiple cars) and a splash pad area for the warmer months.
The entire park is gated, well shaded and has clear sight lines. It is spread out and big enough that even when it is busy, it never actually feels too busy. There is enough room for kids to trike, bike or scoot. There are picnic tables and benches, making snack time easy. Like most Chicago parks and playgrounds, there are no designated toilet facilities on site.
This is a great park to venture to if you're at Wrigley/in Wrigleyville for the day and need to stretch your legs- it's not too far from there. It's a great park to head to if you're feeling like you want to get out of your own neighborhood and check out something else.
