Explore the Small Fetcher Pond and Park for a Fun Family Adventure!
Fetcher Pond is located just off the Yampa River Core Trail so it's easily accessible via bike / foot or car (there is plenty of parking - we saw two distinct lots on either side of the pond). It’s a lovely and peaceful spot to fish, to have a picnic, to play on the small beach-like areas, or stop while you are on a walk or a biking adventure. Children might like to have beach or water toys to play with (shovels, buckets, balls) as there is not a lot of entertainment beyond nature and the lake itself. Be forewarned – there is minimal shade (seems like this is true throughout lots of the parks / playground areas in Steamboat) so come prepared with hats, sunglasses, water bottles, and sunscreen. We did not see anyone swimming in the lake. Picnic tables and benches are spread across the park - there are several bright, red picnic tables just behind the restroom and parking area near a large grassy field and sandy area. There were beatiful yellow wildflowers during the month of June. You may want to bring your own camp chairs for comfort near the water.
Bait fishing is allowed. In the evenings, you can find people practicing their water sports - stand up paddle boarding, kayaks, canoes.
The restrooms are clean and convenient.
