Field Station: Dinosaurs in Overpeck Park Is a Great Spot for Any Dinosaur Loving Kid!
If you have a dinosaur lover in the family, they will go crazy at the Field Station: Dinosaurs exhibit. Located in Overpeck Park, it is called a safari with dinosaurs and includes scenic trails, shows, activities, and of course, dinosaurs! Over 30 animatronic dinosaurs around the park are ready to fright and delight the kiddos! Each dinosaur in the park is labeled with a small informational sign teaching kids about the species and fun facts. They also have a dig site and the Paleontologists' Laboratory, an optional activity where kids dig for genuine fossils they can take home.
Ticket prices vary, so be sure to check their website for updated ticket prices for each season. They also offer twilight tickets for the last hour of park operations as well as season passes if you live close by. The park recommends reserving 2-3 hours if you want to see all of the dinosaurs, exhibits, and shows. The last hour the park is open, there are no shows, so if you only want to see the dinosaurs, then the twilight tickets are a great deal! The park is seasonal and runs Memorial Day weekend until November. Hours will vary but expect the park to be open 10 am-6 pm May through Labor Day and the rest of the season from 10 am-5 pm.
They also have a Dinosaurs After Dark event in October that is a lot of fun for the older kids. It is a lantern-lit tour of the park with surprises along the way that runs Friday and Saturday nights in October. Enjoy the park once the sun goes down for a tour of the park and a campfire with marshmallows afterward!
Field Station: Dinosaurs is located in Overpeck County Park and is a great place to check out after your adventure in dinosaur land! They have a kid's playground, ball fields, pickleball courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a great walking path along the Overpeck Creek, a tributary for the Hackensack River!
