Hallowing Point Park is a huge, 87-acre public park in Calvert County.

This park is spectacular. It has something for everyone and it can be enjoyed by all ages! The playground structures are very modern and colorful with numerous slides, ramps, climbing structures, ropes and there is nice turflike and rubber padding underneath. Two of the slides are super long, and there are countless different contraptions for kids to climb and explore. The kids love the stand-up see-saw, merry-go-round, and the ropes course for an extra challenge. There is a really cool rope bridge, a triple side-by-side slide, and a circular monkey bar which is quite unique. Much of the larger structure is wheelchair accessible, with wide ramps and pathways. The swing set has two big kid swings, two ADA swings and two baby swings decently set apart from the play structures. There are two separate structures for different age groups (5-12 and 2-5-year-olds) and they are nautically inspired. Colorful overhead umbrellas and a tarp provide some shade on hot days while the children play on the structures. There is plenty of room to spread out even if it is crowded, and you can also push a stroller while keeping tabs on your older ones. Your little ones of all ages will LOVE it! The backdrop is lovely, especially on a beautiful fall day, and there are two lovely old barns flanking either side of the playground. It is also surrounded by a fence, so even though the playground is vast, you can still feel relatively safe with your little runners. There is an exit on the far side of the playground to a field, and then two other exits on the parking lot side. There is a Free Little Library within the fenced area of the playground.

This park also includes numerous soccer fields, basketball, tennis courts, and a Pickle Ball court. Great activities for older children and parents! Have you tried Pickle Ball yet? It’s a lot of fun! Some of the tennis and basketball courts have lights for after-dark use and can be reserved. There is a snack and concessions stand as well as clean restrooms for your convenience. In addition to the public restroom, there are also porta-potties scattered around the park for convenience. There are so many covered picnic tables around the playground, which is a really unique touch and not something you see all the time, so bring your laptop if you need to get some work done while your kiddos play. Bring your own blanket and have a picnic or if you are planning ahead and have a large group, the picnic pavilions are also reservable by calling Calvert County Parks and Recreation at (410) 535-1600 extension 2225. The pavilions provide some shade on hot days, but if they are occupied, there's not a lot of shade in the park. There are tons of beautiful trees surrounding, but not necessarily in the places you'll be hanging out. You may want to bring extra cold drinks or water and sunscreen. An equestrian ring and trails are also available at this park, just in case you have any horse lovers along with you!

On weekends, the roads in and out may get congested when multiple soccer or baseball games are being played or finishing at the same time. There are no admission fees, the park is wheelchair accessible and leashed dogs are allowed. There is ample parking in the various areas of the park, and garbage cans scattered throughout. You might want to check out a very popular spot for ice cream treats close to the park: Mrs. Moo's Corner at Spider Hall Farm at 3915 Hallowing Point Road, Prince Frederick.
