Enjoy sports and more at Harrisonville's City Park!

At 275 acres, City Park is Harrisonville, Missouri’s biggest park. No matter what you are looking for in the way of outdoor recreation, there is a good chance that City Park can offer it.

The park offers multiple pieces of play equipment that are suitable for all ages. Kids can climb, slide, swing and more. Big kids can enjoy a larger structure with rock walls and challenging ladders while little ones will enjoy a smaller structure with steps and short slides.

City Park also has four tennis courts, four basketball courts, horseshoe pits and sand volleyball courts! While there are no official sports fields, visitors can take advantage of large grassy areas to kick a soccer ball around or play a game of catch. If you’ve got teenagers, they will be excited to learn that the park even features a public paintball field! While there is a fee to play, it’s fairly reasonably priced. (Visit their website to learn more!) The older members of your family may also want to take advantage of the nine-hole golf course on-premises. You can get more information by calling 816-752-7593.

City Park is also home to two lakes and two ponds which visitors can use for boating or fishing! The park currently boasts 4 miles of hiking and biking trails with more slated for future development.

As if that weren’t enough, you can also take advantage of Harrisonville’s aquatic center. The outdoor pool features a special “zero-depth entry” area specifically reserved for little ones, a lap pool, slides, and sprinklers plus all the amenities you may want for enjoying a day of fun in the sun such as lounge chairs, bathrooms, and a changing area. Fees vary depending on the time of day and number of patrons but are reasonably priced! You can find out more at their website.

City Park makes a great spot for a family picnic or birthday party. Residents can rent pavilions with and without electricity for just such occasions!

Our work in Baltimore is truly a family affair. Husband and wife, Matt and Katie, work together to head up our ambassador team in Charm City. Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador. Matt and Katie have two girls, ages 5 and 7. They spend their weekends camping, hiking, or exploring other hidden gems in their area. Tap into their insider knowledge by downloading the app today!
