playground

Tucked into the Arlington Heights neighborhood, Hibbert is a cute, shaded playground great for the little ones.

This fenced-in playground features baby and regular swings, as well as a handicap-accessible swing. A cute wooden playhouse is available for kids to use their imaginations and two large “rocks” with a rope crossing it for building climbing and balancing confidence in your child! The rocks have built-in grips as well as a rope so your kid can practice “rock climbing”. The rock also has many different stamps of creatures and insects for the kids to climb around and find. There are also two large hollow fake tree stumps to jump to and from and climb in and around, which is a fun activity for kids to hop and jump around, as well as another small climbing structure with a cute raccoon sticking his head out! Finally, there is a soft hill for kids to climb up which has a slide running down it, perfect for the little ones as the slide is not too steep.

There is plenty of shade in the park with lots of trees in and around along with a tree that has a wrap-around bench.  Perfect for a snack or meal (Traders Joe's is a quick drive from the playground).  There is a paved path with some outside ride-on toys which would also be great for little ones learning how to scooter.

Street parking is available and not crowded. There are no restrooms at this playground so plan accordingly.  Close by to Sutherland Woods and would make a great adventure day together.

The Head of Accounting and Boston Ambassador, Jenny has been living in Boston for almost 10 years. Before Boston, she lived in Washington, DC for 8 years, and previous to that grew up on Long Island, NY. Along the way, she spent a few months in Amsterdam with her family biking all around and exploring that beautiful city! Jenny has always enjoyed being active - from organized sports to jogging, and of course, being in the garden as much as possible when the weather is cooperative. She tries to include her children in all of her active hobbies. With two toddler boys, ages 3 and 5, she and her husband spend their time discovering new places and things to do in the New England area. Spending time outdoors in all types of weather and encouraging her children to love all seasons is very important to her - and so is helping and encouraging others to do the same. Jenny and her family love spending time at the beach, traveling, taking walks and hikes, and of course, finding new playgrounds!
