Huck Finn Playland brings a fair like setting from May through October to downtown Albany.

 The amusement park contains classic rides like the Merry Go Round and Ferris Wheel in addition to mini roller coasters and other kiddie rides.  My 4 year old son's favorite is the Fun Slide which is a huge slide that you ride down in a burlap sack and my 2 year old can't get enough of the train ride that takes you around the park.   The rides are perfect for younger kids but you won't find any intense thrill seeking rides here so I wouldn't recommend it for teens.  If you aren't terrified of heights, take your kids on the large ferris wheel because you get to see incredible views of the city.

This amusement park is small enough to see all the rides, bathrooms, concession stand, and picnic area from anywhere in the park.  This feature makes this a great place to go with a group or meet up with another family without the pressure and worry of losing kids or each other.  It also is a good place for anyone with mobility issues as it doesn’t require much walking to get from ride to ride.

They have two separate concession stands to order food.  They have typical amusement park food such as hot dogs, mozzarella sticks, ice cream, etc. and there is a large tent with lots of picnic tables to enjoy your food and stay cool in the shade.  Not into fair food?  On your way in, stop by Eggy’s Place for a breakfast sandwich or lunch instead!
