One of Four Parks Found Around Lake Elizabeth, Kennedy Park Is a Nice Alternative to the Usually Crowded Other Play Areas.

There are two play structures at Kennedy playground. A giant rope web connects both. The shorter structure has a double bumpy slide, steps, inclined rock wall, monkey bars, and music bars. The taller structure has two slides (spiral and sidewinder), vertical and inclined rock wall, steps, ladders including a large arching ladder and a rope tube ladder, activities, and two bars that rotate and make me think of an elliptical machine, but I really don't know what it is exactly!

Between the two structures is a giant rope pyramid web. For the active climbers, challenge them to make it from one structure to the other without touching the floor! There are also two swing sets on opposite sides of the playground; one with bucket swings and the other one with standard swings.

There are big trees around that will give you shade at the right time of day, but unfortunately, when we went, it was full sun. There is a bathroom close by, but still far enough away that you will feel more comfortable taking everyone. From the play area, you can see the lake, picnic benches, and Sabercat Playground. There's a lot of grass, but this also brings a lot of geese...so I watch your step!

If your kids still have energy after playing, take a trip around the lake to make it a complete day. The walk around the lake is 2 miles.

When looking for parking, find the parking lot with the entrance on Paseo Padre Parkway and Mission View Dr.

Jessie relocated to the Bay Area in 2013 to be a high school math teacher and since has gotten married, has two kids, and is now a SAHM, stay/slay at home mom. She enjoys working on her embroidery crafts and taking her kids to local playgrounds and regional nature parks, both of which were activities she became passionate about during the pandemic when she needed an outlet and a way to maintain her mental health. She loves encouraging local families and visitors alike to laugh, play, and explore. There’s so much to see and do so get outside and do it! #amom2kidsandapark
