Lava Island has a Jungle-themed Play Structure Complete with a Volcano Slide!
Here in Colorado, you will want to add Lava Island to your list of places to go when it snows, or when it gets too hot! We all know how hot the playgrounds outside can get in the heat of summer so here's your new go-to spot to get a break from the sun.
Lava Island is a HUGE indoor playground with a jungle/island theme. The most popular attraction by far is the volcano slide! We were surprised by the difficulty in reaching the top - it is like walking up the side of a balloon with some footholds, but not many. It would be great to have socks with grips on the bottom to help you get up there.
The playground is full of places to climb, bounce, slide and more. My favorite slides were a group of side-by-side slides painted in animal colors (alligator, tiger and zebra) that were long and wavy. It was a toss-up for my daughters between the volcano slide and the tall spiral slide near the entrance. As you climb up through the various levels of the play area, you'll find obstacles, rings to swing across, tunnels to crawl through and there's even a single-person trampoline near the back corner.
In addition to the obstacle play areas, there is a Kids Kart tricycle track, a pirate ship with a foam ball shooting area and a play area specific to crawlers and toddlers. I loved the play area for the very young ages because it had a squishy mat floor, huts to play inside (everything had a beach theme), and stackable large blocks.
When we visited, we only had time devoted to the playground area, however, there are additional areas for unique climbing walls and a large trampoline area. Depending on which of the three activities you want to do, there are different costs and times associated so plan ahead of time which you'd like to do so that your kids know you may only stay in one area.
I'll also add that we ate lunch while we were there and the food was delicious!
