Martha T Hart Playground is tucked behind Garfield Elementary School in Springvale Park.

This little park and playground is a great stop when shopping or moving through the neighborhood. It is very conveniently located close to the main roads and highways, but nestled behind an elementary school at a safe distance from nearby traffic for your little runners. There are two well maintained tennis courts in a large fenced in area, and there are two picnic tables set apart from one another as well as a bench. There is a wood boundary surrounding the playground, which is fun for kids who like to pretend they are on a balance beam. WHile there is no fence around the playground, there are dense wooded areas. There are some grassy areas to run around as well. There are garbage cans also, so if you bring a picnic you won't have to pack out your trash, but there are no restrooms, and a fairly small parking lot.

The toddler play structure has a small side by side slide, which little ones love. There is also a larger slide as well as another small one. There is a climbing feature and a tunnel for little ones to climb from one side of the structure to the other. There is a small fire truck spring rider and a series of three balance toys. The larger structure has a rock wall, a large twising slide, and ample climing structures. There is a walking bridge like connection and also a wooden curtain space for imaginative play. There is a tic tac toe spinning toy as well. There are two baby swings and two big kids swings adjacent to one another.

The park his home to ample shade in the afternoon, and lovely church bells from across the street announce the turn of the hour. The park is quiet and simple, but a great spot to entertain little ones or run out a little bit of energy and as an added bonus you can pair it with a dual playground visit at Garfield Elementary School Playground during non-school hours.
