This premier park in the southwest metro offers everything from soccer and baseball fields, to excellent hiking trails and a massive playground.
Miller Park is a really excellent choice for a great family day outdoors. The list of amenities here is about a mile long. This park features several soccer, football, baseball, and softball fields. In the winter, you'll find an ice skating rink and a hockey rink for skating. In the summertime, you'll find a fishing pier, which is often a favorite feature for our kiddos.
The playground itself here is absolutely huge. It's one of the biggest playgrounds we've encountered at a park. There's pretty much every item you could ask for, from separate little kid and big kid areas, stacked with slides, climbing structures, ladders, bridges, tunnels, stairs, and more. One really unusual, really fun feature of Miller Park is the 'boat' on the playground. The 'boat' moves back and forth and has seating for the kids on both sides as it rocks. The kids love this!
This playground also features some really fun water items. There's a large water play toy, with different spouts coming out of it. I highly recommend bringing beach toys to this park in the summer for the water feature. There's also a splash pad here for the summer months, which is definitely a super desirable feature for parks in this area.
An important feature of this playground is that it is considered barrier-free. What this means is that this entire playground was built specifically for kiddos of all physical abilities, and with the idea that kids with physical limitations are still able to fully enjoy and thrive at this park. I just think this mission is so incredibly wonderful. It's important to point this out, as there are still relatively few playgrounds making this concerted effort to include kids of all abilities in the fun. I think it's just wonderful.
