A local Montclair bakery that specializes in artisan bread, classic pastries, pizza, and doughnuts.

Montclair Bread Co just celebrated its 9 year anniversary and is a staple of Montclair. They are open Wednesday – Sunday, 7 am-2 pm for advance orders and walk-ups. Ordering on the website is super easy and can be done the same day or in advance. I love advance ordering because sometimes there can be a line for walk-ups (especially weekends) and items do sell out.

There are many flavors of doughnuts to choose from including monthly specials. We like the Apple Cider, Tres Leches, and trying out the specials. I also highly recommend the Cruffin, a croissant/muffin hybrid with a surprise cream filling – yum! Food ranges from breakfast sandwiches to quiche, and lunch sandwiches. On Friday evenings it’s pizza night, pre-order by 1 pm and walk-ups start at 5 pm. There is limited outdoor table seating.

If you want a fun activity to do with your kids, Montclair Bread offers DIY Doughnut Kits that come with 6 plain doughnuts, 3 icings, and 3 toppings so you can decorate at home. There’s also a Fill Your Own Doughnut Kit with 8 mini doughnuts, Nutella, and jelly for filling and glaze, powdered sugar, and cocoa to sprinkle on top. On-site baking classes are also offered and they have space to host parties too!

And, don’t forget to grab a cup of coffee! They serve local and independent Think Coffee. My favorite part of getting an iced coffee is it’s served with coffee ice cubes, no watering down – genius!

Lastly, they conveniently offer pantry and dairy staples like sugar, yeast, flour, eggs, butter, and milk so you can pick that up with your order instead of making a second trip to the grocery store.
