Nichols is a great find in Nutley, with something for everyone in the family!

Nichols Park is a hidden "gem" located in Nutley, New Jersey, and is right across the street from the new Seton Hall University Interprofessional Health Sciences Campus and Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.

Nichols Park has so much to offer including a large field for throwing frisbees and kicking soccer balls, a baseball diamond for having a catch, a playground fit for kids of all ages and sizes, a walking path with stunning flowering trees (in the Spring) including a bridge over a stream for throwing rocks and making wishes, a waterfall (including a walkway to see from over the top of it!), and a basketball court to boot!

During school/work hours, it is quiet and serene and a perfect place to come for a calm moment, while after school and work hours it gets a bit busier with children and sometimes local sports leagues.

There are no public restrooms located at the park itself, so it's better for children who have mastered potty training, are diapered, or if you can, bring your own potty in the trunk of your car!

For added fun, bring your own scooters, bicycles, balls, bats, frisbees, bubbles, or picnic blanket to have a nice family lunch amongst nature.

Across the street from the park, you'll find a relatively new dining spot called the Oakley (mere feet from the Nichols Park field), which features a family-friendly food menu and a fun drink menu for parents. The atmosphere is also quite modern and fun with an outdoor dining patio.
