Northcrest is a small, Sweet Park with Trails and a (Small) Playground.

Northcrest Park is a neighborhood park in Shoreline. It is a thin park, stretching between NE 165th and 170th streets and hidden between the backyards of the houses on Eighth and Tenth Avenues NE. At the north end of the park is a little playground, best suited to little kids. No slides, no swings, but opportunities to crawl and climb and scramble and spin. This is a good playground to play hot lava or to pretend to be dodging sharks and crocodiles because there are a few small features to hop among. The playground is very shady, which can be pretty nice on hot days in Seattle.

There’s more to Northcrest than just the playground. There are also short, unpaved trails that are a great size for smaller kids, offering a number of points to stop and smell the flowers, look for bugs, and find cool sticks. Some open into pockets of quiet green space, ideal for a picnic. We didn't bring a stroller, and the trails are unpaved, but if you have a fairly sturdy stroller you could probably give your kids a bumpy ride.

If you didn’t bring a picnic, Northcrest Park is close to 7-11 (on Fifth Ave NE). Note that you’ll pass Ridgecrest Public House on the way to 7-11 which can be a good place to get a beer, but is 21+ only.

There is at least one garbage can. but no restrooms or picnic tables.

During COVID times, Jessica has expanded her exploring throughout the city and beyond to keep the kids outside, active, and safe. She is excited to become a happyly ambassador and have greater purpose for roaming the PNW.
