Nuttree has a simple, tucked-away playground, field, and trail for littles from carried to bike riders!
If you’re looking for a simple, quiet outing for your young family to be one with nature... this is your spot. It’s good for young kids and parents with young children of different ages from infancy to 6 years old. The playground is small and simple right beside a basketball court and across from an athletic field. We found a beautiful paved trail through the woods that would be great for new bikers and a parent carrying or strolling a baby. There’s a new-ish picnic pavilion with a picnic table under a covered structure constructed right beside the playground and basketball hoops. This would be an excellent place for a low-key birthday party or kids' exercise class.
In the middle of Nuttree subdivision, you may see some families occupy this space. However, it’s so bare-bones and simple, it’s not heavily populated and we didn’t see anyone while we were there (even driving by in the car!). Other than this covered area, there isn’t much shade so bring your sunscreen and hats as well as a picnic lunch. You can eat at the picnic table or the field across the street! There are no restrooms so be prepared.
The playground has two small slides, steps, a bridge, and a climbing activity. There are also some elementary wall games including a maze and 3-in-a-row kind of similar to tic-tac-toe. There is a springy truck ride, seesaw and a few swings - two big kid swings and one bucket swing. Along with the picnic table and pavilion, there are multiple benches for some quiet sitting space. I recommend bringing anything you want to play such as a soccer ball, basketball, or frisbees. Puzzles, bubbles, chalk, and outside games may also make it more exciting. We really enjoyed the trail and recommend bringing bikes, scooters and helmets to explore the natural wooded trails.
