Explore 34 Acres of Expansive Playgrounds, Fields, and a Walking Track - Alongside the Harpeth River!
Just a few minutes from Downtown Franklin, this 34-acre outdoor includes Tinkerbell Park – a great playground for small kids with age-appropriate slides, swings, and a sandbox stocked with trucks and toys. But kids of all ages will enjoy the many well-maintained play spaces. Though not fit for a long hike, the park does include a one-mile trail for adults and children to enjoy.
The park also features covered picnic tables and other areas to bring a picnic as well as open fields if you want to bring other toys and balls for playing. Restrooms are on site, as are grills – so you can make a day of it here!
The Harpeth River is along the west side of the park and we saw a place for canoe input. The Sue Douglas Berry Memorial pedestrian bridge connects the downtown area with Pinkerton Park (there's a cute painted mural on the backside). You can rent pavilions (the Parks Dept. does recommend calling the Administration Office for updates on upcoming special events that may conflict with your use of this park, 615 794-2103).
Full amenities include:
- 34 Acres
- 2 Medium Pavilions- Middle Pavilion has both Electrical Outlets and Overhead Lights
- 1 Small Pavilion
- 1 Mile Walking Trail
- Tinkerbell Playground
- Children's Playground
- Grills
- Restrooms
After playing in the playground, head up to explore Fort Granger which is directly adjacent.
