An incredibly impressive museum that the whole family will enjoy!

The Children's Museum of Philadelphia is a kids' paradise, a place to learn through play.   The building was constructed to house the art gallery for the 1876 International Centennial Celebration, the first World's Fair in the United States. On the first floor, you will find soaring ceilings housing the River Adventure, a fascinating water play area, Roadside Attractions, varied science experiments, and an art room.

A cafe serves kid-friendly food. The antique carousel is housed in a special room on the first floor.  Downstairs there is a grocery store, play hospital, and one of my favorites - Wonderland. There are fenced areas for crawlers allowing them the freedom to explore. In addition to the permanent exhibits, multiple changing exhibits can be seen throughout. Hands-on is the emphasis of this special place that is a must-see if you are living or visiting the Philadelphia area.

After all, play is the work of children!
