Shaw’s Bridge Park is a 37-acre outdoor recreation area located in West Chester, PA.

The park includes picnic areas, gravel trails, hiking options, walking options, and the opportunity to fish or swim in the Brandywine Creek. Many folks also use it as a launching point to go tubing or kayaking down the Brandywine. And you’ll often be lucky enough to see local horseback riding clubs take the horses out for a walk on a hot day through the cool creek.

Wildlife observation is also a popular activity at the park as well. Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed, and if unleashed under the direct control of their owners.

Restrooms can be found off the parking lot and entrance to the park.

The park is the most crowded in the summer months, but as it is fairly large you will only notice when you enter a picnic area or creek entrance. Otherwise, you will have plenty of open space to yourselves.

Gear suggestions depend on your activity, whether it be picnics, swimming, or hiking and walking, Shaw’s Bridge and the Brandywine have much to offer!
