As the largest lake in Denver, Sloan's Lake Park has a nice variety of activities to partake in around or on the water.

Sloan's Lake is the largest lake in Denver and the second-largest park in the city at 177 acres. The Park has two playgrounds, tennis courts, a baseball field, a soccer field, a basketball court, physical restrooms, and picnic areas. There were tons of people jogging and walking dogs around the 2.8-mile paved loop when I visited in the morning, and I'm sure it got even busier throughout the day.

Biking is allowed on the path as well. In the winter the lake freezes over, but in the summer, there is boating, kayaking, and even water skiing. If you're visiting in July, be sure to check out the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival hosted at the lake. It is two days of ancient Chinese dragon boat races that are not to be missed. Sloan's Lake has a great view of the Denver skyline and is a great spot for catching the sunset and hanging out.
