Nice size zoo to explore!
Stone is one of two zoos just outside of Boston. With it's recently updated exhibits, this zoo provides a wonderful afternoon of exploring and learning about different animals, including bears, bush dogs, monkeys, otters, farm animals, wolves, and much more. My boys love the first exhibit, the Caribbean Coast, where the birds are all around you, and, generally speaking, most of the exhibits provide large windows – the better to see the animals through.
Throughout the year, the zoo hosts numerous events, including Zoolights in late fall around the holiday season – a personal favorite. And we have noticed that the animal life is more active in the cooler months.
We love to visit the zoo early and either take a quick hike across the street at the Crystal Spring Trail and/or stop by the Greenwood Park playground since both are right across the street.
