The most adorable donut shop in Colorado!

While we were on a vacation in the Colorado mountains we came across Sugar Lips Mini Donuts in Copper Mountain. Just reading the sign had us salivating and, if that wasn't enough, the smell wafting from the small, house-shaped business was heavenly!

Located near the GIANT Adirondack chair (perfect for family pictures), this local business is sure to bring everyone joy. The menu not only offers mini donuts, but also ice cream, coffee concoctions, and smoothies! During morning hours, the shop was very crowded so we took our turn after dinner for a memorable dessert.

For my children, the most magical part was that you get to watch your mini donuts be made right in front of you (yes, they are served wonderfully warm!). Actually, if asked, they'd probably say it was more magical that they were able to turn the donuts into a mini donut ice cream sundae. The donuts also come in packs of four, six,12, or 14 and can be covered in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or "fancy-schmancy" a.k.a. sauces, sprinkles, and even maple or bacon, if that's you're thing.

Once you're done (or before you visit) Sugar Lips, make sure to wander around the rest of Copper Mountain too. It is a ski town during the winter, but my favorite time to visit is during the summer. Gorgeous mountain views surround you and there are wonderful restaurants, trails, and kid activities. Not too far east on the highway will take you to Frisco, home to the new Walter Byron Park, and west will get you to the ever-popular Vail.

This is not a place easily walked by so if you're in the area, be prepared to stop for a treat.

Hours vary by season; for most up-to-date information call or check the website.
