Sunset Ridge Park Is an Excellent Park in the SW Metro of Minneapolis

We actually frequent this park very often. Not only is it convenient, but it has tons of top quality, brand new playground equipment, lots of free off-street parking, and plenty of green space. Oh, and it has Porto-potties, too, which is a huge bonus for families (and really anyone).

This park is easy to find, though not located on the main road. The playground equipment here is totally awesome! There’s a huge variety on which to play, and there’s something for both your tiniest kiddos, as well as your big kids. There are lots of swings, several slides, and a great set of monkey bars for bigger kids. There’s a cool fake rock wall to climb and a tiny hippo for littles to crawl inside of and on top of. My kids aren’t tiny anymore, but they still adore hiding inside the hippo and surprising each other! There’s also a popular gyro spinner and a really nice plastic Merry-go-round to push. Yes, I get quite the workout spinning the girls on this! My kids are guaranteed a happy afternoon every time we visit this fabulous park. And happy kiddos mean I’m a happy mom!

This park includes nine full acres of fun, plus you can access a wide trail system from here, so grab that stroller and head on over. There’s also a half-court basketball court.

After playing around here, head down to Smith Coffee to enjoy a hot latte in a gorgeous, historical home.
