Part of the Great American family of restaurants, Sweetwater Tavern in Centreville never disappoints!

The other two Sweetwater Tavern spots are in Merrifield and Sterling, and we love them! The Centreville location most definitely stands up to its sisters. The large space with a lovely outdoor patio boasts a main room with generously sized booth seating, which we particularly love with busy kiddies. There is a long fresh air porch that has sides, but the majority were already removed in mid-May - it runs the length of the main room. The decor and ambiance is warm and inviting and the restaurant is very clean.

I love how the Great American Restaurants use glasses for the children, but make them kid-friendly with a secure to-go coffee lid - it's more environmentally friendly because this creative solution produces so much less waste. The kids' menu options are GREAT because they have the standards for picky kiddos, while also offering salmon and a tenderloin steak for the more advanced little palates. The kids' meals come with your choice of carrots, applesauce or french fries, as well as their choice of beverage. Generally, in non-pandemic times they have Etch-A-Sketches available for kids as well, which is such a creative activity that also is also environmentally friendly.

Our adult meals were absolutely delicious - my southwest-style salad was awesome and we love the Tex-Mex Egg Rolls, but honestly there are so many great options depending on your mood and they are all made with high-quality ingredients.

In response to Covid, they also have a large tent for those who prefer full fresh air while dining.
