Thames Street Park: Hidden gem in Bustling Fell's Point.

The park is small but the equipment is brand new and tons of fun. Kids can climb up a rock wall, cross a swinging rope balance beam and take a spin in a tiny, twirling cup. The best part about the park is that it is entirely fenced in so you don't have to worry about little ones wondering.

The park has just enough sidewalks that a little one might be able to enjoy a short spin on a scooter or, at the very least, create some sidewalk chalk art. There is also a small gazebo that can be used to get out of the sunshine for a picnic or just to take a rest. There are no bathrooms on site but the area is easily accessible by stroller.

There is no equipment that is specifically made for toddlers at this park but little ones will enjoy going up the steps and down the smaller slides with the help of a parent. We've seen at least one family with kids under two playing on each of our visits this year so it's still plenty of fun for even the smallest kiddos.

If you walk out of the park and turn right on Thames Street, you'll be in the heart of Fell's Point. There you can find a great view of the water plus plenty of ice cream shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a green space in the heart of the city, Thames Street Park is the perfect spot!

Our work in Baltimore is truly a family affair. Husband and wife, Matt and Katie, work together to head up our ambassador team in Charm City. Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador. Matt and Katie have two girls, ages 5 and 7. They spend their weekends camping, hiking, or exploring other hidden gems in their area. Tap into their insider knowledge by downloading the app today!
