The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore
The zoo is a big hit with any child but the layout of the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore makes it a great option for families with very little ones. Kids will love watching the elephants, giraffes, penguins, polar bears, monkeys, and more while you explore the stroller-friendly grounds. The zoo even features a farm area where kids can get right in the pen with the goats! If the walk from admissions to the zoo grounds is too long for your crew, just hop on the convenient tram that the zoo provides!
Wyman Park Dell
If your little ones need to burn some energy, check out the Wyman Park Dell. With a large open field and a small playground the features only equipment for toddlers, you don't have to worry about getting bowled over by the big kids. As a bonus, the Baltimore Museum of Art has a free sculpture garden right across the street. Kids can cool down in the stroller while the grown-ups in the group take in the beautiful outdoor scenery!
R.House
Conveniently located just a couple blocks from Wyman Park Dell, R.House is one of your best bets for getting a bite to eat with a toddler in tow. The food court-style space is big enough that no one bats an eye when a fussy toddler stages a protest. There are tiny, kid-sized tables as well as high chairs available. If junior gets antsy, he can wander over to an open area near the windows to climb on the wooden boxes or read a book with a parent.
NCR Trail
The NCR trail is a great option if you're looking to take a walk or go for a bike ride. Whether your little one will ride in a stroller or spend some time toddling on her own, the wide stone dust path makes it possible. The 20-mile trail has several entry points. The farther north you go, the less crowded the trail is!
Hammerman Area
If you're looking for a great warm-weather destination for little ones, look no further than the Hammerman Area at Gunpowder Falls. This beach is situated on a river which means no waves! Kids can toddle through the water without fear of being bowled over. The park also features multiple playgrounds as well as a lake house with a restaurant and changing rooms.
