Retreat to nature for a picnic or for some fishing.

Tuckahoe Creek Park is a hidden gem in the far west end of Henrico County, less than five miles away from the Short Pump Town Center, the region’s preeminent shopping center.

This ADA-compliant park is expanding its impressive boardwalk to allow for more fishing spots, benches, and longer strolls through these tucked away wetlands. Tuckahoe Creek does not allow boating or swimming, but it does allow leashed dogs if your family’s furriest members want to join in the fun. Meander down the well-fenced boardwalk looking for cattails, dragonflies, turtles, and frogs!

The adorable gazebo at the start of the boardwalk offers picnic tables if you need a place to nibble your sweet treat from nearby Gelati Celesti or Ray’s Italian Ice. If you’d rather have a full meal, pick up subs from Zero’s Subs before you go!
