With a variety of options for you and your family to enjoy the great outdoors, Tunnel Springs Park is an awesome option!
Not only does it have a small playground, but it also has a walking trail, plenty of places to picnic, tennis, and the scenery is outstanding!
Tunnel Springs Park can get busy on weekends and evenings as it is also a popular place for photos. The mountain backdrop and tall grasses make a perfect photo opp, especially in the warmer months. If you want to take some family photos while you are out and about, Tunnel Springs Park is a great option!
We love Tunnel Springs Park because it has great movement space! Children can run freely and release so much energy! Tunnel Springs Park is also located near several hiking trails. In the winter, you can use trails for sledding as well!
Tunnel Springs is located in a very nice North Salt Lake neighborhood. It is right outside the city and even with the photography sessions, it is not as busy as some of the other parks nearby such as Memory Grove or City Creek Park.
Another great opportunity when visiting Tunnel Springs Park is taking the trail from Tunnel Springs to City Creek Canyon. You will find lots of bikers while using this trail. If you are into biking, Tunnel Springs Park and this trail are PERFECT for that! The Tunnel Springs Park to City Creek Canyon trail is 8.7 miles and will be moderately trafficked depending on the time you are trekking. Evenings and weekends seem to be more heavily trafficked. The views of the Wasatch and the city are great along this trail, so again, have your camera ready! The trail is out and back so feel free to go as far as you would like and turn back anytime!
Tunnel Springs Park and trail are dog friendly, so if you have a fur family member make sure to bring them along as well! We love visiting Tunnel Springs and hope your family enjoys it too!
