Explore this Gem of a Dinosaur Museum (and more!) in Vernal!

We arrived in Vernal a bit early before all of our explorations began so we decided to check out the Utah Field House of Natural History for an hour.  It is AMAZING - one of the best small-town museums I've ever visited.  It's definitely worth a 1-2 hour visit.  Here's why we loved it:

1. Tons of dinosaur exhibits - there's even one in the entryway that you can see quickly for free if you don't have time to visit and just want to stop in.

2. The introductory movie gave us a great overview of the area and a bit more information about the history and discovery of dinosaur bones.

3. In addition to dinosaurs, we saw ancient rock art and Native American relics and traditional dress (upstairs).

4. After the movie (the theater is next to the ticket office on the ground floor), we wandered through very well done, hands-on exhibits that my kids enjoyed (dusting off dinosaur bones, detecting the authenticity of fossils).

5. There are beautiful outdoor gardens with huge dinosaur figures.

All in all, there are a variety of interactive exhibits, displays, and activities that are great for guests of all ages.

Also, note that there is a visitor center inside the museum.  Per the website: "A free visitor center allows our guests to get all the necessary information to fulfill their adventure in the Vernal area. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff is available year-round to answer questions and help enhance your visit. Visitors can get up-to-date information about attractions, recreational opportunities, food, lodging, as well as local events."
