Veterans Park offers a lovely place for families to play, alongside a beautiful memorial to all veterans.

We really loved this park. There were plenty of wide-open spaces to fun and play, so it makes for a great stop if your kiddos like to bring along a ball and mitt for a game of catch like mine do, or even a soccer ball to kick around. On this particular day, I happened to have the girls' bikes in the back, so I asked them if they wanted to bike on the sidewalk, and they were elated. I also brought with a small stack of books, as I often do for parks.

The playground here has quite a few nice features, including slides, swings, and all sorts of climbing apparatuses. A really nice added bonus feature was the lovely merry-go-round. Not many parks have these anymore, and it was definitely the highlight of the park for the girls. They went round and round until it made Momma dizzy to watch them! Ha! I also love that this park offers restrooms, along with a covered pavilion. There's a nice bit of a view of a slight overlook of the valley, though you're not high up here. We also did some birdwatching.

The memorial to Veterans was lovely, and I think for slightly bigger kids who can conceptualize fighting for our country, it's a nice conversation starter for history and ethical discussions. It's always sobering to see a veterans memorial, but I really enjoy how it helps teach kids about the world.

We loved this park and would highly recommend it to families. After enjoying an afternoon or morning here, head over to nearby Smith Coffee and Cafe for a bite or a latte.
