Spend a Day at the Lovely West Lincoln Park and Playground, right on the Riverfront!

West Lincoln Park is set just beside the Yampa River along the Yampa River Core Trail and is an excellent spot to spend an afternoon with the family.  There is a large green space (great for playing games, throwing a ball, having a picnic and running with a dog), a shallow lake spring to explore, a few hot springs to look at, as well as a playground. The playground is complete with a sandpit (in the corner but is not stocked with sand toys are shovels so you may want to bring your own), swings, climbing structures (fake boulders), a really cool slide that is built into one of the fake boulders, and an interactive music station .  If you walk near the river, there is a sandy and rocky beach-like area where several folks can be found fishing on a nice day just under the pedestrian bridge.  Your kids will want to splash around on the river banks.  Don’t miss the large moose sculpture near the lake.  You can't climb on it or anything but it's huge and my kids loved exploring near it (beware it's near the shores of the lake and there was a lot of algae, etc so you want to avoid falling in).

The restrooms are clean and conveniently located near the parking lot.  There is a small covered pavilion set in the trees.

It's an easy walk to Little Toots Playground just up the river and set closer to town.
