Wildcat Mountain State Park is a must-see in central Wisconsin!

Let me say Wisconsin has some exceptionally beautiful state parks. In fact, I can’t even say “some” because it’s more like “many.” We’ve visited a fair number of Wisconsin State Parks, and so far, they’re all very naturally beautiful. This was our very first visit to Wildcat Mountain, and it did not disappoint us. This park is quite beautiful and offers many amenities.

While a vehicle admission pass is required to visit here, the prices are super reasonable. It should be noted, if you’re entering with out-of-state plates, as opposed to Wisconsin plates, it will cost you a bit more, but it’s only a matter of a few dollars. And it’s worth it! We typically buy an annual WI State Parks pass, but we do live very close to the Wisconsin border.

This park has some sweet amenities! You’ll find excellent camping sites here, so it’s a great spot for a family camping trip. You’ll also find great fishing and hiking. In addition, this park has tons of picnic areas and shelters, so bring that family picnic along! You’ll even find horseback riding here, which is not found at many state parks in the Midwest. So, that’s a really fun, unique feature of this park. And the fun doesn’t stop here in winter. You’ll find cross-country skiing, winter hiking, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling in the colder months! This park is so fantastic! I highly recommend a visit here for all of the wonderful activities it offers year-round.
