An active park with people exercising, running in the green space and playing on the playground.

Accokeek East Community Park made us all want to work out! It is always nice to see the community taking advantage of parks and enjoying everything they have to offer. Accokeek East Community Park has nice wide sidewalks that are great for walking, scooters, strollers and more. The park is not too big and it is easy to make multiple loops around it.

We started off by exploring the sidewalks and walking to see everything is space has to offer. There is a small covered pavilion with picnic tables and benches and as you round the corner you will see a beautiful playground! The playground was surrounded by trees which provides great shade when the trees are in bloom. This is a major bonus on hot summer days. The playground had something for everyone. They have two play structures to enjoy. The playground includes monkey bars, multiple slides, climbing structures and much more.

As you continue walking around the loop you will run into a basketball court. If your children enjoy playing make sure to bring a basketball, the courts are typically quiet during the day. Which makes it a great place for them to practice, shoot the ball and play.

To round out the loop, you do have to walk in the parking lot for about 50 feet. When we were there the parking lot was quite empty which was fine to walk through.
