Accokeek is home to a spacious park with activities for the whole family.

When we pulled into Accokeek Neighborhood Park, the bright colors of the play structures immediately caught our eyes. As we checked everything out, we all agreed this is a great park with lots to do, the only problem there are no restrooms. Something to keep in mind.

The park includes plenty of parking spots, a covered pavilion with picnic tables, a great basketball court and tennis courts (that are in excellent condition), and park benches throughout, a baseball field, lots of green space to run, there are paved sidewalks which are great for kids if they want to scooter or bring a balance bike for younger kids and let them practice. The basketball court is extra smooth and a great place to practice or ride.

The playground structures are fun with lots of opportunities to climb, hang and swing. They have two play structures one geared towards older kids with monkey bars, slides and more while the other is geared towards younger kids. It’s small but has a nice little slide and places to climb. It’s great for younger children as they are learning to climb and move more. The playground has two big kid swings and two baby swings.

All in all, this is a great little park to check out. The trees were in full bloom which provided wonderful shade. We brought some snacks, a picnic blanket and set up under one of the trees to take a little break and refuel. Having no restroom made it a bit more difficult to hang there for hours but we still had a fun adventure!
