Acorn Park Sits Along the Hackensack River and Is a Quiet Place to Let the Kids Play.
Located in Secaucus, Acorn Park is a neighborhood playground that also hooks up with the boardwalk along the Hackensack River. Head over to let the kids run around and then take a stroll and enjoy the river views!
The playground itself is a decent size and has slides, monkey bars, climbing features, swings, and some cute little safari animals that add to the fun. The playground is surrounded by a fence, however as mentioned, it does connect to the walking path along the river, so just be aware of this if you go. As it's smaller and tucked into a neighborhood, there are usually not too many people here, and it's a great spot if you want to avoid the crowds.
There are a few picnic benches surrounding the park, but not a lot of shade. There are also no restrooms at this park.
The park is actually at the beginning of the Secaucus Greenway, which is a 2.2-mile path that runs along the Hackensack River. If traveling south along this path, you will eventually end up at Mill Creek Point which has another playground and fenced-in dog park. It is also just a calm and peaceful area to relax.
If you will be southbound when headed home, make a stop at Fiore Deli of Hoboken. Just be prepared for long lines that stretch down the street if you happen to go on a Thursday or Saturday. Their roast beef sandwich is pretty well-known and only served on those days! If headed north (and for kid-friendlier options), you can also try Emma's Bistro and Ssong HotDogs)
