Hendrickson Park is a great playground and pool for the residents of Valley Stream. 

Located near Valley Stream Central High School, the Arthur J. Hendrickson Park and Pool has activities for the family all year long. With the pool, playground, walking path, basketball, mini-golf, and tennis, there is something for the whole family. There are two pools in which to swim. The pool is a large "T" shape with lap areas and diving boards while the other pool has several lap areas and an area to just play or float. There are lounge chairs along the fence line and some covered picnic tables. They have several large canopies set up for shade as well. The pool host summer movies in the pool, children's swim lessons, exercise programs, swim team, and water show. To register for the pool, you must have two proofs of residency including a photo ID brought to the front desk of the Hendricks Park Facility. This will give you the season pass paid membership. The playground is a fun nautical theme with an octopus and sperm whale to climb, and a large play structure with several slides, steps, ways to climb, and pirate-themed decor. Another smaller play structure has steps, a large and small slide, and ways to climb. The playground base is made from poured-in rubber and a fence goes along by the lake. This helps keep kids from wandering to the lake area.  There are only a couple of mature trees near the playground but most of it is in the sun. There are several benches to sit and enjoy the view. The walking path meanders around the Valley Stream Pond and can connect to the Valley Stream State Park. The lake is home to various wildlife which you can observe regularly. 

Though it is for the residents of Valley Stream only, this is a great park and pool facility to create many lasting memories and the prices are reasonable comparably.
