Barrett is a small park with a great playground. 

Located in the Hewlett area of Valley Stream, Barrett Park has a fenced in playground area, baseball fields, tennis court, street hockey or soccer courts, and public restroom. The playground has a poured-in surface with both a large play structure and small one, ride on bouncer, spinner ride on, free standing monkey bars, and swings for both small and big kids.  The large structure has multiple slides, steps, climbing fun, and monkey bars with fun flowers and butterfly decorations. The smaller structure for preschool age has multiple smaller slides, climbing, and steps while a portion of it is covered. The playground is mostly in the sun but surrounded by mature trees. During the summer months take caution for the playground equipment can get warm. Bring a picnic blanket and take breaks in the shade. There are several benches around the playground. The play area is fully fenced with a gate for one way in and out. This is great for Littles who like to wander off. The playground is great for kids 12 and younger. 

There are two street hockey or soccer courts with goals and nets. This area is fully fenced in. Next to this is the tennis courts. There are public restrooms and vending machine. The park is used by the local after school groups and the parks and red host summer camps. 

This is a great family-friendly and clean park. Perfect for a quick morning or afternoon play for locals and visitors alike.
