Belden Park in Cottage Grove is a smaller neighborhood park that is a great spot if you want somewhere more quiet and calm for the kiddos to burn off energy.

Located next to the Armory in an older neighborhood, this park isn't always a busy spot, which is great if you have kids that need a smaller and quieter spot if they get sensory overload at bigger parks. However, there is plenty to do here to keep kiddos busy for an hour or two.

The structure consists of 2 slides, one is a twirly slide, and the other is a double slide. My kids could spend hours having races down this type of slide. Located on one side is a rock climbing wall, also a big hit with kids. And then the infamous fire pole. These are hard to come by at some playgrounds we visit and they are a hit when we find them. Located next to the playground is a single bench for parents or caregivers to use while the kids play. You can easily see all sides of the playground from here. The city puts one porta-potty here in the summer months, so there is a bathroom on site. Located a bit further from the park is a baseball field used by Little League teams during the warmer months. Summer evenings can get busy at the ball field, and older kids may wander over to play on the playground, but there is a bit of distance between the two.

After a visit here, head over to Sushi Cafe and grab some delicious takeout for supper.
