Head Outside With the Family to This Fantastic Spot. 
 

Located west of downtown Bastrop, Bob Bryant Park is a 23-acre park featuring a playground, trails, an overlook of the river, basketball court, soccer field, sand volleyball court, picnic areas, and restrooms. The playground area near the parking lot features a large play structure and two swing sets. The play structure has a large covered awning for shade and features two stories of slides, climbing, ladders, steps, and interactive play stations. The swing sets have traditional swings and a mommy-and-me swing. The playground area is in full sun. There are some mature trees nearby and a picnic pavilion to cool off when needed. The play space is filled with pea gravel so bring scoops, trucks, and other toys to play in the rocks for the little ones.

The walking path goes around the open green space and makes a loop. This paved path is perfect for pushing a stroller, scootering, and young bike riders. The path is mostly in the open but follows the tree line. This can get hot in the dead of summer, but it's great early in the morning or later in the evening when it's cooler. It is a great path for the cooler months to enjoy getting outside while staying warm in the sun. Part of the path does go into the tree line along the river and has picnic areas in the shade. This will also take you to the scenic overlook of the river. There is also a small boat launch nearby if you have your own kayaks and canoes. The woods also have great trees to climb, which is always fun for kids. 

For the sports enthusiast in the family, the basketball court, sand volleyball court, soccer field, and large open green space is a great way to pass the time. Bring your own sports equipment.

Bob Bryant Park is a fantastic little park that is well maintained and clean. Only crowded on the weekends, especially when soccer games are happening but otherwise quiet during the week. Check it out for your next family adventure.
