A fun park to cool off this summer in Winston-Salem.
Located just south of the Admore area, Bolton park is a great summer spot. This park has a large pool area with diving boards and a large splash pad area for the little ones in your family. Bolton Park Pool is the largest city pool in Winston-Salem. The pool has traditional diving boards and a regulation-height diving platform to allow it to host the annual city-wide swim meets. Bolton Pool also has a zero-entry water playground. There is a small fee to enter the pool, and tickets can be purchased at the pool entrance. Like all the city pools, Bolton pool offers free swim lessons. The city pools require a swim test for all children over the height of 48 inches. If they cannot pass the test, then the child is required to wear a life jacket. Children under 48 inches are required to wear a life jacket. Life jackets are not required, however, in the water playground areas. You may bring your own life jacket if it has a Coast Guard-approved stamp. Look to the website for all the pool information and policies before coming to the pool. The pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Behind the pool are sand volleyball courts and a sand pit to play in for those younger kids. There is also a quarter of a mile paved walking path with a covered exercise area. There are ten different exercise equipment to test your fitness. There is a large covered picnic area beside the tennis courts. When we visited, the playground was under construction, so look forward to a new playground coming in soon. The park hosts several festivals and events like IndieFest and Drive-In Bingo.
Have some family fun this summer and come cool down and hang out at the pool.
